1 - SCHENGEN VISA (up to 90 days - Type C)
This Panamanian citizens travelling in Europe (Schengen countries*) for short stays (maximum of 90 days every 180 days) and for purposes of Tourism, Business, Study, Mission, Sports Compencia) no longer need to apply for the Schengen Visa at the Embassy.
(*) Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

The Migration Police of the first airport of arrival in one of the Schengen countries will be able to find out if the traveller is in the conditions that allow entry into the Schengen area (*) and may therefore require:
Return ticket;Reasons and duration of the trip;The demonstration of sufficient economic means to cover the entire stay;Hotel reservations or guarantees to have accommodation.

2 - NATIONAL VISAS (more than 90 days and up to 365) - Type D
The National Visa (VN) allows entry into Italy for a long stay (more than 90 days and up to 365) for travel purposes that the Italian national regulations provide and specifically indicated by law.
All extra U.E. nationalities are required to apply for the National visa.

The holder of a Long Stay Visa once bequeathed to Italy will compulsorily request, the competent Police authorities, the planned "Permesso di Soggiorno" within the first 8 days of arrival in Italy.

4 - TOURIST VISA FOR "VISIT FRIENDS/FAMILY"
It is communicated to all citizens who have citizenship subject to the Schengen visa obligation (excluding Panamanian citizens who are exempt from Schengen entry visa, then for minor stay period of 90 days)the institution of a new visa subcategory called "FAMIGLIA/AMICI TOURISM-VISIT", whose requirements and model of the mandatory invitation letter can be obtained at the following links:
