Confirmatory Referendum \u2013 22\u201323 March 2026<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What is being voted on?<\/strong><\/td>\nBy Decree of the President of the Republic dated 13\/01\/2026, published in the Official Gazette (Gazzetta Ufficiale), General Series, No. 10 of 14\/01\/2026, a confirmatory referendum has been called pursuant to Article 138 of the Constitution, concerning: \u201cProvisions on the judicial system and the establishment of the Disciplinary Court.\u201d<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
How do you vote?<\/strong><\/td>\nVoting abroad takes place by mail.<\/strong> Ballots must be returned to the consulate by carefully following the instructions contained in the information sheet included in the voting package and using only the materials provided therein.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Who can vote abroad?<\/strong><\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Voters registered in AIRE<\/strong> (Register of Italians Residing Abroad), who will receive the voting package directly at their address of residence abroad.<\/li>\n
  • Italian citizens temporarily abroad for a period of at least three months, exclusively FOR REASONS OF WORK, STUDY OR MEDICAL TREATMENT<\/strong>, and their family members living with them abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    IMPORTANT:<\/strong> voters temporarily abroad must submit a specific request directly to their Italian municipality of residence BY 18 FEBRUARY 2026<\/strong> in order to receive the voting package.<\/p>\n

Can I vote in Italy?<\/strong><\/td>\nVoters registered in AIRE who intend to vote in Italy must notify their relevant Consulate within ten days following the calling of the referendum, i.e. by 24\/01\/2026<\/strong>. This choice may also be revoked by 24\/01\/2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When do you vote?<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

  • In Italy, voting takes place on Sunday 22<\/strong> and Monday 23 March 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Voters abroad vote in advance by mail. Voting packages will be sent to the address of residence no later than 4 March 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n


    Only ballots received by the relevant consular office BY AND NO LATER THAN 4:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, 19 March 2026<\/strong> will be forwarded to Italy for counting.<\/p>\n

    IMPORTANT:<\/strong> voters who BY 8 MARCH 2026<\/strong> have not yet received their voting package may contact their consular office to obtain a DUPLICATE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
