Notice to Italian Nationals

Italian nationals are informed that the Civil Protection Authority of Panama (SINAPROC) declared, on Monday, October 27, 2025, a RED ALERT  due to severe weather conditions in the following areas of Panama:

  1. Southern areas of the districts of Soná and La Palma, in the province of Veraguas.
  2. The district of Tonosí, in the province of Los Santos.
  3. The districts of Barú, Renacimiento, and Tierras Altas, in the province of Chiriquí.

The RED ALERT has been issued due to increasing rainfall caused by Hurricane Melissa, currently active in the Caribbean, and the resulting overflow of rivers and waterways in the aforementioned areas.

This measure is expected to remain in effect until Thursday, October 30, when an improvement in weather conditions is anticipated.

Italian nationals in the affected areas are advised to exercise caution when traveling.
