Contributions in support of foreign (non-university) educational institutions under Chapter 2562/2 (Fiscal Year 2026)

For the promotion of the Italian language and culture in foreign (non-university) educational institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, by Director’s Decree No. 4100/20 of 4 March 2026, establishes the criteria and procedures for granting the contributions set out in Article 4 of the aforementioned decree for the calendar year 2026 (Chapter 2562/2 – Fiscal Year 2026).

CONTRIBUTIONS

The above-mentioned contributions are granted for:

  • the establishment and maintenance of Italian language teaching positions in foreign educational institutions, aimed at partially covering the salaries of teachers directly employed by the schools under local law contracts;
  • alternatively, partial contributions for scholarships for study trips to Italy for students who have successfully attended courses in Italian language and culture.

DEADLINE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Schools interested in submitting an application must do so through this Embassy by sending the required documentation to comm.ambpanama@esteri.it no later than 16 April 2026.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

Applications must include the following documentation:

  • LETTER FROM THE APPLICANT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, drafted in Italian, containing the school’s identifying details (name, address, contact information) and a detailed justification of the request, signed by the responsible authority;
  • ANNEX A for applications for contributions for Italian teaching positions and ANNEX B for applications for scholarships/study trips to Italy. The signature of the school’s legal representative must be legible and submitted in JPEG format;
  • ANNEX A2and ANNEX B2 for the reporting of contributions received for the calendar year 2025. All educational institutions that have previously received contributions and have not yet submitted the required reports must send, no later than the indicated deadline, the final report and financial statement regarding the use of the most recent contribution, using the new editable forms “ANNEX A2” and “ANNEX B2”.

Please note that the submission of reporting documentation, in addition to being a condition for the granting of the requested contribution, constitutes a mandatory requirement for all foreign institutions that have received contributions within the previous five years, regardless of whether a new application is submitted.

The forms have been prepared in editable PDF format to facilitate data entry and to allow the legal representative of the applicant institution to upload their signature (in JPEG format). To ensure full functionality of the editable PDF format, the files must be opened using Adobe, Internet Explorer, or Edge.

Only applications whose forms are duly completed in editable PDF format will be accepted by this Office.
