The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) invites candidates to apply for the three awards: the “Farnesina – Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award”, the “L’innovazione che parla italiano” Award, and the “Science, She Says!” Award.

1) “Farnesina – Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award”: now in its ninth edition, this award is alternately dedicated to senior and junior researchers who have distinguished themselves abroad through outstanding scientific achievements. For this edition, the call is open to junior researchers. Applications will be assessed by a Scientific Committee composed of representatives of MAECI and the Presidents of the main public research institutions (COPER).

2) “L’innovazione che parla italiano” Award: now in its ninth edition, this award recognizes the high innovative value of technology start-ups operating abroad that have been founded by Italian citizens. Applications will be evaluated by a Technical Committee coordinated by PNI Cube (the association bringing together Italian academic incubators and business plan competitions, established with the aim of fostering the creation of new knowledge-intensive university spin-offs and supporting their entry into the market).

3) “Science, She Says!” Award: now in its fourth edition, this award will be granted to five young foreign women researchers under the age of 40, representing five different geographical areas: Africa and the Middle East; Asia and the Pacific; Europe; Central and South America; and North America.

The deadline for submitting applications is 20 September 2026.
