This Embassy of Italy in Panama uses social media for institutional purposes, to increase transparency and knowledge of its activities: informs, communicates, listens and publishes institutional content.

The published contents include photographs, institutional videos, press releases, service information, news related to the activity of this office as well as opportunities for involvement and participation of citizens. Personal data are used in compliance with the relevant legislation, the information of which is available qui.

Through its social channels, this office can share and relaunch content and messages of public interest and utility published by other users.

This Embassy is committed to managing spaces for communication and dialogue within its social media profiles asking its users to respect some simple rules:

  1. Everyone is asked to present their opinion with fairness, measure and respect.
  2. In social media everyone is responsible for the content they post and the opinions they express. Insults, vulgarity, insults, threats and, in general, violent or defamatory attitudes will not be tolerated.
  3. Published content must always respect the protection of personal data. References to facts or details which are not of public importance and which affect the personal sphere of third parties should be avoided.
  4. The interest of the arguments in relation to the activities of this House is an essential requirement: it is not possible in any way to use these spaces for purposes other than institutional ones.
  5. Each discussion is linked to a specific theme: all participants are required to respect it, avoiding to widen the comparison in a generic and indiscriminate way.
  6. No advertising, spam or promotion of private interests or illegal activities will be tolerated.
  7. No content that infringes copyright or unauthorized use of trademarks is permitted.

In any case, if the social media allows, all posts, comments or audio/video materials that:

  • have inappropriate language and/or a threatening, violent, vulgar or disrespectful tone;
    contain illegal content or incitement to engage in illegal activities;
  • have offensive, misleading, alarmist content, or in violation of third party rights;
  • disclose data and personal information or that may cause damage or damage the reputation of third parties;
  • present content that is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or that offends the sensitivity of users;
  • have a content discriminatory by gender, race, ethnicity, language, religious belief, political opinions, sexual orientation, age, personal and social conditions;
  • promote or support illegal activities that violate copyright protection or misuse a registered trademark.

For those who repeatedly violate these conditions or those contained in the policies of the instruments adopted, this office, consistent with the Social Media Policy of the MAECI, reserves the right to use the ban or blocking (when possible after a first warning) to prevent further intervention, and to report the user to the platform managers and, where appropriate, to the police.

This office interacts with users through its social profiles and instant messaging services, in particular Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct, during office hours and not ensuring timely feedback. When activated, all mentions and requests received will be examined promptly. When the characteristics of the message make it difficult to provide a complete and useful response, links to documents or anything else that may be considered useful in providing a response will be reported.

No voice messages, calls, video calls, or document transmission are accepted. For reports and requests articulated we recommend to use the resources indicated in the page of the contacts of the site.
