Academic qualifications obtained abroad are not automatically recognized in Italy. Applicants interested in obtaining recognition of their academic qualification (Declaration of Value – DDV), obtained from institutions officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia and Guyana, may submit their application for a DDV to the Embassy of Italy in Panama.
The complete documentation must be submitted by appointment, which must be requested exclusively by writing to the following email address: consolare.panama@esteri.it, at the Embassy. The DDV will be issued subsequently and only once the documentation submitted meets all the established requirements.
The Embassy of Italy has not authorized any agency to submit DDV applications, as applicants are required to appear in person at the Embassy’s Offices in Panama. If the applicant for the DDV (Declaration of Value) is unable to appear in person, the Embassy may accept the documents from a third party, provided that the latter is in possession of a “Delega” (authorization) duly legalized by a notary.
For applications submitted for study purposes in connection with university pre-enrolment, it is not possible to delegate the submission to a third party. The person applying for pre-enrolment must appear in person.
FEE
Free of charge: DDV for study purposes, upon presentation of the Italian university’s letter of acceptance or pre-acceptance.
