Italian citizens residing in the Countries of secondary accreditation are advised to travel to Panama to use the consular services provided by this Embassy of Italy, which, according to local legislation, To enter Panama, the foreign passport must be valid for three months beyond the duration of the intended trip.
Passport for citizens under 18
- Presenting the accompanied minor with both parents at the Embassy of Italy in Panama by appointment online for “passport” through the portal Prenot@mi NOTE: On the Prenot@Mi portal, individual or multiple appointments can be booked, as long as they are available. It is clarified that multiple appointments are only applicable for minors and must be booked directly by one of the parents.
- Applicants who have reached the age of 12 must go to the Embassy of Italy in Panama for fingerprint collection;
- The passport issued to a minor does not change when he reaches the age of majority and remains valid until it expires.
Documents to be presented for passport for citizens under 18 years
- For the issue of passports to children under 18, minors accompanied by their parents must be present;
- Identity documents: of parents and children;
- users already holding an Italian passport must present the expired passport at the appointment which will be cancelled;
- For users under 8 years old n. 2 4 x 4 photographs, white background, front and recent;
- cash payment of art. 27issue of art.27 (A+B), of the table of consular fees (the fees quoted change quarterly, please check the amount);
- if the application is only requested by one parent, it will be necessary to bring the consent of the absent parent on the day of the appointment,

In case of theft or loss of the passport, the interested parties must book an appointment through the Prenot@mi service and submit a complaint of theft made to the local police authorities, indicating the entity that issued the document; and if possible, the number and date of issue.
If the passport or other Italian identification documents belonged to a minor, the complaint must be lodged by the parents at the Consular Office on the day of the appointment (or by whoever exercises parental authority). It is essential to indicate the number of the passport to which the complaint relates.
Passport withdrawal
Nationals residing in the consular district of Panama (competent for the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago) are hereby informed that from May 30, 2023 The passport collection service will be carried out at the counter of this consular office ONLY on Fridays of each week in the following time from 9:00 – 12:30. We remind the users to bring the following documents for the collection of their passport:
- Previous passport (to cancel, if applicable) and receipt of your passport issue/renewal.
- In the event that the passport is withdrawn by a third person, the same must carry “The Delegation” notarized in original in which the interested party indicates: his personal data, the ones of the delegate and exactly the service requested with copy of the identity document of the delegate, previous passport (to make the cancellation, if it is the case) and receipt of the issue/renewal of your passport.
It is noted that when established above it is passable of modification for future Fridays, according to the requirements of the consular office. Of these changes will be given timely information to the user.
