Italian citizens residing in the Countries of secondary accreditation are advised to travel to Panama to use the consular services provided by this Embassy of Italy, which, according to local legislation, To enter Panama, the foreign passport must be valid for three months beyond the duration of the intended trip.
Passport documents for citizens over 18 years of age
- If you are an Italian citizen, please contact the Embassy of Italy in Panama by appointment online for “passport” through the portal Prenot@mi NOTE: On the Prenot@Mi portal, individual or multiple appointments can be booked, as long as they are available. It is clarified that multiple appointments are only applicable for minors and must be booked directly by one of the parents.
- Users already holding an Italian passport must present the old passport for the issuance of the new passport,
- cash payment of art. 27 issue art.27 (A+B), of the table of consular fees (the fees quoted change quarterly, please check the amount);
Documents to be submitted for nationals with minors
If the applicant has underage children, it is necessary to fill out a replacement declaration of certification regarding the absence of measures that may prevent the issuance of the passport (as per provisions contained in art. 20 of Decree-Law n. 69 of 13 June 2023).

In case of theft or loss of the passport, interested parties must book the appointment through the service Book and file the report of theft made in front of the Police Authorities of the place, which is indicated the entity that issued the document and, if possible, its number and date of issue.
If the passport or other Italian identification documents belonged to a minor, the complaint must be filed by the parents at the Consular Chancellery on the day of the appointment (or by who exercises parental authority). It is essential to indicate the passport number to which the complaint relates.
Passport withdrawal
Nationals residing in the consular district of Panama (competent for the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago) are hereby informed that from May 30, 2023 The passport collection service will be carried out at the counter of this consular office ONLY on Fridays of each week in the following time from 9:00 – 12:30. We remind the users to bring the following documents for the collection of their passport:
- Previous passport (to cancel, if applicable) and receipt of your passport issue/renewal.
- In the event that the passport is withdrawn by a third person, the same must carry “The Delegation” notarized in original in which the interested party indicates: his personal data, those of the delegate and exactly the service requested with copy of the identity document of the delegate, previous passport (to make the cancellation, if it is the case) and receipt of the issue/renewal of your passport.
It is noted that when established above it is passable of modification for future Fridays, according to the requirements of the consular office. Of these changes will be given timely information to the user.
It is recalled that the Embassy does not use external collaborators, agencies or intermediaries for the management of consular practices.
