The visa can be applied for three months before the date of travel and up to 1 month before the date of travel.
Type of visa: “C” short-stay visa (less than 90 days).
What is it for and who can apply for it?
For personnel of companies who need short training courses, visit establishments, of Italian companies with which they have already established a lasting business relationship; owners, representatives, personnel of companies who have business relationships with Italian companies and who travel for the purpose of establishing, finalizing, modifying, dealing with contracts and/or business matters.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be submitted following the strict order below:
- Schengen visa application form duly completed in all fields and signed.
- Two photographs (3,5 cm x 4 cm), white background in color (identical and recent), one of which must be pasted to the form in the corresponding box.
- Valid passport (valid for at least 3 months beyond the duration of the visa) with at least two free pages and a plain copy of the passport (only the page of the passport containing the holder’s personal information).
- Payment of consular fees in cash (pay on the day of the appointment, see Consular Fees Table)
- ID card – for foreigners cédula de extranjería or carne de residencia, valid (in both cases only an enlarged, legible copy).
- Local documentation proving the actual status of economic – business operator (e.g.: business license, Italian chamber of commerce certificate, contract, etc.).
- Program of the entire stay in Italy, with directions and expected company contacts or letter of invitation from the Italian company (according to the following model and in original) with a copy of an identity document of the person signing the letter. (in original) issued by an Italian/European citizen or foreigner legally residing in Italy accompanied by a copy of the declarant’s identity card with the signature visible. NOTE: The letter of invitation can be sent telematically only and directly by the inviting Italian Company to the following e-mail panama.visti@esteri.it
- Availability of accommodation, hotel reservation, in case the letter of invitation from the Italian company indicates that they will take care of the accommodation must attach documentation confirming the above, (e.g. Hotel Reservation, Rental Contract, etc.). In case the company operating domestically takes care of the applicant’s accommodation, documentation confirming the above must be attached. (e.g. Letter of Declaration, Hotel Reservation, Rental Agreement, etc.) NOTE: In case of hotel reservation this must be made in the name of the applicant.
- Work letter (original and copy)
- Savings and/or current account statements for the last six months, as well as any domestic and international credit cards (original and copy). With proof of economic means that must be constant over time and not at the last moment according to the values indicated in Table A annexed to the directive of the Italian Ministry of the Interior dated 03.2000, which provides for the availability of the following minimum amount: 206.58 Euro base +27.89 Euro for each day.
- Round-trip flight reservation: the reservation must have Italy as the final destination. NOTE: Air reservations must be made directly with the airline or a travel agency in the country of residence or directly in Italy (reservations made online are not accepted). The air reservation must be in the name of the applicant.
- Travel medical assistance insurance valid for the Schengen area with the following coverages:
- Medical care for illness: minimum coverage of 30,000.
- Medical care for accidents: minimum coverage of 30,000.
- Repatriation: minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.
The insurance company must have a representative/office in Europe. Travel insurance cannot have a deductible. Insurance must be valid for the duration of the visa (original and copy) NOTE: Insurance must be made with agencies within the country of residence or directly in Italy, no reservations and/or purchases made through internet sites will be accepted. Insurance must be in the name of the applicant.
NOTES:
- The Embassy has not authorized any agency or intermediary to process visas.
- The absence of any of the above documents will result in the counter rejecting the visa application (which does not mean that the visa was rejected, but that the file could not be received).
- The Embassy reserves the right to request other documents it deems necessary.
- Submission of the required documentation does not necessarily result in the granting of a visa.
- The visa is a concession, so even by submitting all the required documents it can be granted or refused.
