Appointment information

For urgent requests (loss/theft of passport, E.T.D. and declaration of existence in life) write to consolare.panama@esteri.it

 

The Embassy has received reports of people and/or websites claiming to be able to guarantee appointments for a fee. The Embassy is completely uninvolved in such requests and the booking service on the Prenot@Mi system is free of charge.

To book an appointment, the user must register in the Prenot@Mi portal by entering the requested data, his/her e-mail, choosing a password and selecting “AMBASCIATA D’ITALIA PANAMA” in the Consulate box. (we recommend using the Edge browser)

Once the registration is complete, the user can access the portal with the email and password chosen. In this way, it is possible to choose the service and appointment date from those available.

The Prenot@mi Portal allows individual appointments to be selected if they are available. In the event of immediate unavailability, the user is advised to try logging in again at midnight Italian time when the system automatically makes new appointments available (except for Fridays and Saturdays).

When the user receives the e-mail with the appointment proposal, he/she must confirm it by entering the Prenot@Mi portal in the “My appointments” section by the date specified in the message. The proposed appointment cannot be changed and in the event of non-confirmation or cancellation, a new one must be booked.

The appointment made must necessarily be confirmed directly by the user 10 to 3 days before the established date by accessing the Prenot@mi portal by clicking on “My appointments“.

If the appointment is not confirmed, the System will AUTOMATICALLY cancel it, making it available to other users and the user will not be allowed access to the Embassy.

The main consular services are as follows

  • Passports and CIE – Electronic Identity Card,
  • Civil Status (birth, marriage, divorce, death);
  • Citizenship by marriage;
  • Citizenship by descent;
  • Consular services (for registering ‘civil status’ acts, issuing certificates, authentication of signatures, acts of assent, extension of validity of Italian driving licence);
  • Visas (study, religious reasons, work, re-entry, etc.).

NOTE: Interested parties are informed that although this Embassy is aware of the extreme difficulties users face in booking an appointment, it cannot help them to make one. The online appointment system is, in fact, automated and cannot be influenced centrally. The availability of dates or time slots is subject to demand from the large number of users.

Provision of consular services without an appointment:

Italian citizens or foreign citizens in possession of an Italian pension for the relative competencies of the certificate of existence in life can go directly to the Italian Embassy in Panama without prior appointment ONLY during opening hours to the public (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Documents to be submitted:

  1. Valid Italian passport or identity card (for foreigners valid identity document)
  2. Form issued by the competent body (citibank form, inps. etc.).

In the event of having to request a certificate of existence in life in Italy for other reasons, we inform our compatriots that this type of procedure is issued ONLY to Italian citizens registered with AIRE in this consular district and is FREE OF CHARGE.

It is essential for Italian citizens to present a valid Italian identity document for any kind of request at this consular office.

Users are advised to carefully consult the various sections of the Embassy’s website for the documentation to be produced according to the consular service requested. Finally, please note that the Embassy does not use external collaborators, agencies or intermediaries to handle consular paperwork.

The appointment must necessarily correspond to the type of service requested. If you book an appointment for a service other than the one you are requesting, you will not be received.
